CHESTER - John Alford, of East Liverpool, was the winner of the Chester-Newell Sportmen's Club catfish tournament on May 19 with a live fish measuring 39 inches. Blind draw winner was Jared Pinkerton, of East Liverpool, with a fish measuring 33 1/8 inches. There were 69 contestants in all.

CHESTER - Connor McGaffic smacked a two-run home run and Mikayla Crane and Alex Arnott each had two hits to lead Xtreme (3-0) to an 8-4 win over Oak Glen Power. Hannah Clunk, Maisie Witherow, Sam Talbott and Cassidy Strum also hit safely for Xtreme.
